There are some apps you download just for fun, but then there are some apps you can’t imagine living without. Although everyone would beg to differ on what apps are essential on their Android phones, there are some apps that are meant to be universally popular. Although, some may totally disagree on the fact that there is such thing as universally popular Android apps, I, however, have managed to compile a comprehensive list below:
Waze GPS:
It’s a given fact that GPS navigation is now a practical possibility with the help of a smart phone. GPS now comes standard on all smart phones, and it’s only a matter of having the right app to guide you smoothly along your way. Recently purchased by Google – Waze is a navigation app that lets drivers share traffic patterns and warn others about gridlocks. It is provides the most accurate and fastest routes for drivers. All in all, Waze has overthrown Google maps and has given rise to social GPS.
Brightest Flashlight:
From time to time, we all end up in dark places: whether it’s navigating a dark alley, checking under the hood of your car, looking under the bed for a lost item or flagging for help in case your car breaks down at night – flash lights in general are a must have tool. Consequently, there are hundreds of Android flashlight apps, but one that stands out in popularity and practicality is Brightest Flashlight, developed by Golden Shore Technologies, this is a simple but powerful app. All the user has to do is touch the icon and your camera led lights up and your front screen switches to bright white hue – allowing you to maximize phone’s brightness.
Sound Cloud:
Everyone loves music, as it is known to sooth the soul and uplift moods. Despite what language you speak, the language of music is appreciated worldwide.  Consequently, riding on the time tested popularity of music, many developers and developed music apps. However, the one app you’ll sure to find on any music lover is sound cloud. Sound cloud is basically the YouTube of music and audio.  You can upload your songs to sound cloud and share it online with music fans. Additionally, it also acts as a comprehensive database for music albums from around the globe.
Viber:
Viber may be a newcomer to the free messaging domain, but it has gained significant users since its inception – taking its competitors by surprise. The free calling and messaging apps automatically detects your contacts saved in your phonebook and lets you make voice calls to those who have Viber installed on their smart phones. In addition, similar to what’s app, you can also send videos and images to other users. Viber can be best compared to Skype – but it only differs.
Folder Lock:
Your personal information such as credit card numbers, PDF tax returns, personal photos and videos are considered the most private of files. Therefore, it becomes quite awkward when someone goes through your personal data. Thus, apps such as Folder Lock for Android are popular for this reason alone – the fact that they can lock and hide your secret data makes them valuable.

Folder Lock Pro

Those who have switched to Android from some other platform know how intimidating and alien a new interface can feel at first. Whether you are looking to switch from Blackberry, iOS or from Windows, using Android will certainly surprise you. Once you make the switch to Android, you’ll be able to rearrange icons however you like. Best of all, you’ll most likely have the option for expandable memory given that you are willing to invest in an SD card. As a new Android you’ll certainly make some stupid mistakes, highlighted below are some of the most common ones:
Setting up live wallpaper:
You’ll most likely setup live wallpaper which not only slowdown your Android device, but it will also drains your battery like hell. Secondly, it will label you a”noob” amongst Android users.
 Going crazy with widgets:
One thing you certainly won’t be able to resist is the option to setup widgets on your home screen. Most people go overboard with this, and then they begin to wonder as to why their phone has gotten slow. The key is to use only those widgets which you find absolutely useful. For example, if you often have to go outdoors, it makes sense to keep a weather widget on your home screen. The key to using Widgets is only using those that you really need – not because they look cool on your phone.
Download every app you come across:
Another natural reaction for a noob Android user is to download every interesting app they come across on the play store. A rule of thumb is that you need not to download an app because you want it, but download an app because you absolutely need it. If for some reason, there are some apps that you feel you barely use, then delete them.
Not using Google Now feature:
If you have the latest version of Android and you are not using Google now voice commands, you my friend are a noob. Google now is perhaps the greatest productivity tool ever invented by Google. Instead of browsing your phone to search for the app, with Google now, you can send commands which will open the app. For example, if you want to open Google maps, you launch Google Now and say “Ok Google” then say “open Google maps” and like magic, Google maps launches. You can also use it to make calls: for example if you have to call your mom all you say is: “Ok Google.”  “Call Mom” and Google now will dial the number for you – giving you vital assistance while driving or for situation when you need your hands for other things.
Not securing your personal data:
If you use a smart phone, you’re going to have personal data saved on it. However, it is likely that the thought of password-protecting that data has never crossed your mind. Your smart phone is a mobile device, and like all mobile devices – it is prone to loss or theft. Therefore, it is vital that secure it with software such as Folder Lock Pro for Android.

Folder Lock for Android

Press Release – November, 19, 2014 – Beaverton Oregon –Thanks to recent changes by what’s app team, it is now considered the most secure messaging app available for smart phones. This new security enhancement is a result of direct end-to-end encryption – Meaning all your text based communications are encrypted and cannot be intercepted by third parties (such as NSA). However, the encrypted messaging is only available for Android, and is yet t be launched for iPhone.  This new security enhancement in what’s app is collaboration between open whisper systems – which specialize in creating text secure apps.  The encryption works in the sense that messages are encrypted and decrypted from the user end, so once a message is sent, it is decrypted on the other end.

This new security enhancement is certainly sure to attract security conscious users. What’s more is the fact that what’s app has added another feature which is supposedly indicates the message status. A double blue check indicated that the message has been read.

Moving on to a different subject, besides security of messages, data privacy and data security is also a concern amongst users. For example, have you ever wished there was some way to hide your photos, videos and other documents from other users –perhaps from your wife, mom or sibling? For those who are saving sensitive information on their Android phone such as financial spreadsheets, HR data, personal tax returns (which contains your social security number) and other information that is considered extremely sensitive.

Luckily for security conscious users, there are many apps that are designed to hide and lock personal data. However, these apps lack the much needed practical functionality or are so buggy – they cannot be used in practical situations. Nonetheless, one app that shows the same growth potential as what’s app is known as Folder Lock for Android. The app’s main objective is to lock and hide personal data such as files, folders, images, videos, credit cards information and it also has a built in secure browser. What’s unique about this app is that it is the only app for Android that bundles up all these security features into one app.

Some of you may have heard the term “BYOD”, what does that mean – you may be wondering? It simply means bring your own device. Whether you’re on the train, bus or aircraft, there’s no need for in-flight entertainment, all thanks to the BYOD revolution. One can watch movies, play games, view presentations or surf the internet (given there’s wireless internet connectivity) while travelling. Most security experts feel that BYOD poses new security challenges for IT security professionals. Users with their own devices are at an increased risk of being attacked by e-stalkers (those who surf the networks scanning for vulnerable devices). Places where free Wi-Fi is available are teaming with hackers and crackers – waiting for the most weakest of victims. So how do people become targets? It’s simple, hackers and users are usually on the same free Wi-Fi network which is mostly unsecured. Using sophisticated hacking software, criminals are able to force their way into people’s devices for the purpose of stealing personal data. We may not know it, but our Android smart phones contain more personal information than we realize. Simple bits of information such your name, address and driver’s license number can be found in your smart phone, giving criminals all the leverage they need to steal your identity.
According to data security analyst at Newsoftwares.net Inc., Ian Murphy – the BYOD has significantly shifted the way information over the internet is shared. He quotes “in the past, one had to have a stationary device such as desktop computer to access and share information, with BYOD, that’s no longer the case – small handheld, yet powerful smart phones, capable of connecting the internet, many with high-speed connections such as 4g have revolutionized the IT world. However, such trends have propelled e-crime, and users are more at risk than in the past.”
Murphy suggests that users should lock their personal data using a data security app, one such great example of a data security app is Folder Lock Pro.

Just as Android grows in popularity, so does the amount of malware that’s out to infect it. Android’s open platform makes it susceptible to hacker exploitations. However, developers are rushing to develop security apps in order to counter this security issue. Users are also cautioned to use their Android phone responsibly. First, always download apps from authorized websites such as the Play store and avoid downloading apps from third-party websites such torrents. Thoroughly research app before downloading them, read app permission and figure out if any personal information will be collected. If personal information will be collected, look for developer explanations as to why. Next, if you do not have a security app installed on your PC – install one immediately. Most are free and can prevent attacks from malware and hackers. Second, avoid rooting your Android device, as rooting the device makes it more open to attacks.  Third, enable a pattern, pin or password lock; this will protect your device from being exploited by snoopers. Lastly, installing one or all the following apps will certainly provide you with unbreakable Android security.
Avast Mobile Security:
Avast can be considered the king of antivirus android apps. It has features that protect users from malicious websites. A built in privacy advisor will warn you of any suspicious apps that may attempt to collect personal information. You can also block incoming and outgoing calls with the call and SMS blocker. Avast can also scan all your pre-existing apps on your phone and your SD card, and root out any security issues. It also has a built in anti-theft feature, giving its users to track down their device, sound an alarm, remotely lock the phone and if all else fails, remotely delete all data saved on the phone. All in all, if you have to download antivirus software, make sure its Avast.
Lockdown Pro:
Antivirus isn’t everything there is to Android security, you also need to secure and limit permissions on individual apps. You also need to lock down certain apps, such as your photo gallery, documents app and play store – mainly to prevent others from downloading additional apps on your android phone. Luckily, with Lockdown pro, you can lock any app you wish. This is a great app for someone who wishes to prevent unauthorized users from gaining access to certain apps. A must have for security conscious Android users; the best part about this app is that it’s free.
Folder Lock Pro:
Wish your wife, girlfriend or your friends wouldn’t look at your private and confidential videos, documents and images. Well, you may not be able to convince them otherwise, but you can hide your important data from them with Folder Lock Pro. The app is one of the few of its kind, able to password protect images, videos and documents, it also has various security features that prevent detection of the app, such as stealth mode and panic mode that makes detection of folder lock nearly impossible.

It’s far easier to assume that there’s no such thing as the best Android phone. Although, such an assumption can be true – depending on one’s individual perspective. Many manufacturers have their own version of a flagship phone – the sad part is, as they excel in some features – they fall below expectations in others. Therefore, it takes a lot of critical evaluation to determine the best Android phone money can buy. However, if you are just an average user, chances are you are bound to have a great user experience no matter which flagship Android phone you choose. In fact, your opinion may differ from someone else on which Android phone deserves the top spot. On the other hand, this article is all about expert, unbiased reviews on top flagship Android phones. The following are considered top phones on the market:
Number One – HTC One M8:
Although it’s far from perfect, the M8 managed to score well on the most important aspects. For once, it’s perhaps the most attractive looking smart phone in its class.  With an actual aluminum body, it’s certainly sleek looking – though you may have a hard-time holding on to it.  Nonetheless, HTC phones are quite distinguishable from others – as they have their own signature look and feel. Where it excels in style, it lacks in camera quality and decent camera software. The best part about this phone is that if you are not into Android, there is also a Windows phone version available.
Number Two – The LG G3
The G3’s forte is its high-resolution screen with a large display that covers nearly all the display area – and not to forget that it’s the very first smart phone to boast QHD display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Additionally, its camera performance is nothing short of impressive. Though, unlike the M8, the G3 has a plastic exterior instead of aluminum – setting it back to second place.  Nonetheless, if you could care less about the aluminum shell, the G3 makes a better choice as it’s much superior to the M8 when it comes to overall performance and features.
Number Three – the Samsung Galaxy S5
The S5 may not be much to look at – since its looks more or less the same as its predecessors. What’s new are some new features added to this flagship phone such as water and dust resistant shell, multiple color availability – minus the metal casing. Other features include ultra power saving mode and hands free swiping. In regards to security, it does not come preloaded with a data security app, but one can purchase an app such as Folder Lock Pro which can act as a virtual lock for your files and folders.
Number Four – The Sony Xperia Z2
Every six months, a new, more powerful Xperia is designed and deployed. The shell is designed using a combination of glass and metal. Made with high-quality materials, boasting a high-resolution camera, the Xperia Z2 – although considered to be a high-performance smartphone – is also a world phone, enabling you to use this phone with any carrier of your choice. However, sadly it’s not available in the United States, placing it in the number four spot.

Windows phone may not be as popular as the Android or iPhone, but it has its own die-hard fans. These users are also avid windows users and older more mature users who are used to the familiarity of Windows operating system. Next, the reason why Windows mobile operating system is still somewhat popular, is because it far more user friendly than Android or the iPhone – though many would disagree with this fact. Additionally, Windows phone is considered more secure than Android and most would believe that it cater more to a more professional group of smart phone users.  Although, there are not as many apps for windows mobile as compared to Android and iPhone – newer, more creative apps are being published regularly – and it’s only a matter of time before Windows phone becomes the next Android. Thus, if you are wondering what are the most popular apps are for Windows, the following are the most popular apps listed below:
Facebook:
This should come to a no surprise that Facebook is one of the most popular apps for the windows phone. Not having a facebook app on your smart phone is like not having a telephone in the 90’s or 80’s. The truth is that Facebook has become a need instead of a want. People have become so accustomed to facebook, that they spend countless hours on reading their newsfeed.
Skype:
Are you still waiting for the video phone? Well, guess what, it’s already here – but through different mechanics – known as Skype. Skype works on all platforms including android, iPhone, and Windows desktop and of course Windows phone. Skype also lets you make local and international calls, all within reasonable rates.
Yelp:
One of the biggest advantages of having a smart phone is that it’s good at giving out directions. Whether you are out for pizza, drinks or coffee, you can depend on yelp to lead you to your destination. Since yelp is an app that relies on crowd sourcing, you are bound to find unbiased reviews on restaurants, bars and retail stores.
Folder Lock:
Since Windows phone is a smart phone, using it requires the user to be smart about his or her data’s security. This is where Folder Lock for Windows Phone comes in – as it the only file and folder security app that’s seriously developed for those who are truly concerned about identity theft or privacy of personal files, images videos etc.

Android is the most popular smartphone operating system all around the world. The reason of its popularity is that Google has given the hardware manufacturers and the developers fair bit of freedom to make changes in the operating system. This feature or freedom of Android is quite helpful for the tech savvy people as they can swap default things that they do not like by things that they love using. The number of apps and the kind of ease Android provides for installing and uninstalling apps is a blessing for them and they do not find it threatening. The Google’s OS has millions of users around the world and they are not aware of the fact that their privacy might be compromised with the loopholes Android has. So, here are some tips that will help user to enjoy using their favorite OS safely.

Be Careful When Installing Apps
Thinking that downloading apps for popular or reliable stores does not impose any sort of risk on your privacy is really a wrong perception. The fact is that nearly 40 percent of the apps available on the official Android store i.e. Google Play or reliable store like Amazon are injurious to your privacy. Apps leak the user’s information with or without permission to the third party. The long forms that the Android users do not read or just a small message that the app will require your information are usually answered positively without giving it a second thought. So, the users need to download apps of only those companies that have a proper website, the developer is renowned or reliable or the app is extremely famous.
Enabling Lock Screen
Lock screen is a major weapon of security for not just Android, but, for all the smartphone users. Lock screen acts as the first line defense for the smartphones. An ordinary thief or crook cannot get through to the screen lock to the data saved in it. In fact, if the lock screen password is entered wrong a multiple times, the phone gets locked and returns to the factory settings. That is how handy the lock screen is. But, the password needs to be a tough and tricky one. No matter you opt for the standard password or PIN or a pattern, they all need to be complex to keep the crooks out of the stolen smartphone.
Using Data Security App
As discussed above, the users should be extremely careful while installing apps on their Android phone. And as advised above, one should download app that is either extremely popular or the app being developed from a renown developer. There are hundreds and thousands of data security apps available in the stores, but, which is the one to opt for. I will highly recommend Folder Lock Pro as it is the extension of the famous encryption software Folder Lock. The app is reliable, it does not leak information with or without permission. It is extremely easy to use and has a wonder user interface. This is the app that you can trust for the security of your data.

Smartphones are capable to work on a vast amount of information and this capability makes them vulnerable to the physical as well as data security. That is why, you need to take good care of your phone and look to secure it diligently.

Your smartphones have your most personal information, whether they are your personal pictures, videos or other priceless memories of your loved ones. Other than that, stuffs like contacts, notes and logs are also extremely important for you can also be lost. All this information can be used against to make you a victim of fraud that can make you suffer big time. Your habits and personalities can be guessed by this the online crooks can make you an easy prey.

Stealing your phone has become an easier way to seal your identity.  Hackers do not physically steal your phone, they contact crooks and pickpockets for such devices and pay them a reasonable sum of money against them. Actually, online criminals have no or very little interest the stolen hardware, they really see the benefit the data that is saved in it. They easily extract out the information and use it for their benefit. It harms you and feasts them. If you are using an Android phone and want to avoid such blow, use Folder Lock Pro. It is an amazing app that secures every sort of information that you keep in your Android phone. Otherwise, you will always be in the danger of getting hunted down by the digital criminals. So, be wise and take precautions or you will keep regretting your small leniency.

Do you remember your first love? Or perhaps your first kiss? Chances are you still feel nostalgic when you look back and think of your high-school days. When you were young and the first time you fell in love with your high-school sweetheart – it felt like heaven. However, it’s a fact that many don’t get to marry their high-school sweetheart or even someone they truly love – they end up marrying the wrong person. Sometimes things don’t work like they are suppose to, and this creates problems.
Sometimes, we make stupid mistakes in life. We meet someone special and dump them – only to end up with someone else we hate even more. Consequently, after realizing we have made a mistake, we blame ourselves constantly and wish it would have been different. Part of remembering that lost loved one that could have been – is looking back at the memories you shared with that person. The videos and photos you have of that person is probably the only thing that can act as a catalyst for remembering those good old days – apart from the memories in your head.
However, often times we would like to keep those memories safe from our significant others such as wife, common law or lover. Though, it’s sometimes impossible to keep things under wraps from your partner – especially during these technological times. It has become nearly impossible to hide your deep dark desires since the internet became main stream. If you are married, you know that your spouse will often check your facebook account to see if you’re still chatting with your ex-girlfriends. In addition, any female friends on facebook will raise her suspicion. Therefore, it becomes nearly impossible to stay in touch with old flames. Sometimes, your lover may also check your browsing history, what websites you visited, what things you purchased online, whose twitter profile you’ve visited and – in some extreme cases – follow you around – or spying on you.
Nonetheless, there are ways you can fool your wife, lover or common law spouse. For starters, if you are using facebook, twitter or other similar websites, make sure you do so using an incognito browser – such browsers do not record your browsing history and leave no traces of your online activities for others to discover – alternatively, you can also clear you browsing history after you are done conducting your online activities.  Moving on, when it comes to taking pictures with your affair or saving pictures of your ex-girlfriend on your Android smart phone, you need to be careful about your significant other discovering them. Simply saving them on your smart phone can prove detrimental if they are accidently – or even intentionally -- discovered by your wife. Therefore, such images should be locked and their access should be restricted. Fewer apps on the play store are capable of performing these security functions. One such app that does this very well is known as Folder Lock Pro for Android. This app has built in features that enable it to function in stealth mode and can fool snoopers into believing you have nothing to hide, all thanks to its decoy icon function.

Cloud computing has been the recent sensation in the field of computer. The benefits of the cloud computing that have been communicated to the users they are affordable, unlimited storage capacity, scalability and easy accessibility. These are some of the benefits that are usually communicated to the ones that are interested in opting for the cloud computing. However, there are some features of the cloud that are not much known by ordinary users, but, are extremely handy for handling the information saved digitally. These hidden benefits are also for the ordinary users as well as for the businesses, all in all the cloud computing is extremely useful in maintaining data.

Cloud facilitates in getting involved in a new business
The most important thing for a business is time. You get a couple of days late in the launch of your product and you may feel that you are left out of the market. For example, if you are about to launch a digital product and you need to get it tested, you will need to distribute it to your testers. However, if use a cloud server, all you will need to do is upload it there and all your testers will download it from there and save your precious time. Apart from that, it would be quite affordable as there will be very little fees that will not be a burden on you.
Cloud helps in mergers or acquisition of the business
One of the biggest problems that two businesses get merged or one acquires another is the transfer of data. It is always difficult to transfer all the information about the business to the new partner firm or the acquire. Hence, a business can upload all the information on the cloud server and the other business can easily access it and extract all the necessary information. In the absence of the cloud technology, the companies will have to manually transfer the information from one side to another. In this case, it will require and probably more human effort as well. However, if you do it via the cloud, the process will completed quite effectively and efficiently.
Managing the cloud storage is easy
Many businesses in this fast moving world are investing huge sums of money as well as a large chunk of their time. They need proper IT departments to look after their networking systems and other similar issues. The IT departments serve most of their time in the maintenance of those systems. But, the cloud computing has provided a fair bit of relief to the IT experts as they do not have to worry about the maintenance much. Pre-installed QuickOffice
The KitKat users can view or edit their documents that are created with the help of MS Office with the courtesy of the pre-installed QuickOffice in the operating system. Google purchased QuickOffice some years back from today and now offering it to its users in a very effective way.

However, you might be reluctant to do so because of the potential threats that Android imposes users’ data security. But, if you are obsessed with Android, then follow your obsession and be worry free as there are security measures that will keep your Android completely safe.

One of the many reasons that makes Android OS vulnerable regarding data security is that Google Play does not have enough check and balance on the apps publishing on it. There are a number of applications that are malware and harm users’ information security and are hackers friendly. As per a research suggests, nearly 40 percent of the apps available on the Google Play are injurious to the users’ data security. Do you remember the early 90’s? Well, if you do, then you probably could recall your first home PC. A personal computer back then was a thing of a marvel. It allowed us to insert a diskette/floppy and save data on it – and for some data, you have to use multiple floppy disks – you would be promoted to insert the next disk and so on – in order to access the data. Perhaps you also remember the very first computer game you played – remember Doom? Then, sometime around the mid 90’s, the internet was introduced to consumers. You had to dial-up using a 56K modem and had to input your username and password every time you had to connect to the internet. During the connection process, it made funny sounds, such as hums and screeches – and by the sound – you knew how long till connection is established.  As time passed along, things technology became more sophisticated – accordingly the internet got faster – resulting in more interactive and flashy websites. As the internet became a virtual marketplace, people began setting up an online business and a new market was created. Tech companies emerged along with e-commerce. Companies such as Google, Microsoft, Apple and other further grew as the internet grew. Then a race started for the domination of ecommerce, Google, Microsoft and Apple were neck in neck – and they still are today.

As a result, today, a new wave of computing has emerged known as mobile computing. People are abandoning their laptops/desktops and instead relying solely on their tablets and smart phones.  These devices enable people to have an insurmountable level of freedom, giving them the opportunity to take images, videos and share and exchange documents anywhere (given that they have an active 3g or 4g connection).
With the advent of mobile technology, a new culture has emerged, a culture of texting instead of calling, sharing images and videos, collaborating on documents through cloud computing, selfies and group photos and location sharing on social media websites. The fact is that smart phones have become so ingrained in our personal lives that functioning without them becomes impossible.
In fact, if you had to function one day without your smart phone, you would feel lost – as if a vital part of your body has been taken away – it’s an eerie feeling!  You may or may have not noticed, but there is a technological shift. People are abandoning their portable data storage devices and instead are switching over to cloud. Cloud services such as One Drive, Google Drive, Box, DropBox and the like are a popular means of accessing your data from anywhere – without the inconvenience of carrying around your portable hard-drive.
However, as technology becomes more sophisticated, it also become more detrimental to us. The more information we save on our smart phones, the more we are at risk of having it compromised. Thus, this is where the need for mobile data security comes in. Application such as Folder Lock for Android has all the features necessary for securing data with integrated cloud storage.

There is no conflict of opinion that the Google’s Operating System Android is the most widely used smartphone OS around the globe. It shares almost 80 percent of the market share in the international smartphone market. The amount of devices of Android OS has made it a big platform for the makers of malicious programs. Keeping the data security in view, the US government has issued a warning regarding Android threat to information security. In a document that was released a couple of months back notified the police officers, firefighters, emergency medical services and security persons from the much risky threat. The reason of that notice was that version that was released back in 2011 has some serious security issues.
According to the report, the Android contributes more than 79 percent of the mal attacks end successfully for hackers, whereas, on the other side the attacks against iOS has the success rate of only 0.7 percent. Android is the most likely smartphone Operating system to be hit by a mal attack if a user browses via an unsecured hotspot. The reason for the weak security measures in Android is the freedom that Google has given to the hardware producer to make amendments as per needed. Microsoft does not allow any company that produces smartphone to make any sort of change in their Windows Phone OS.
